“My name is Collins. I’ve been working on boats all my life since I’m 18. I’ve been on riverboats and offshore boats and this is 42 years I’ve been on the water.
Well me and my tankerman were on the barge pulling the fuel hose up and everything was going good, but the dockman pulled the hose the opposite way we were pulling and it caused me an injury which I had to get an operation on my back.
I had a ruptured disc and two bulging discs and when I called my company to try to get them to pay the hospital and all that, they wouldn’t do it. They removed the L5 and S1 and I’m still having problems with the nerves in my back. So now it’s where I get a shot every 4 months and I’m taking the medicine which is helping me but I had a little delay on the shot because a blood clot went through my lungs so I can’t get the shots right now. So I’m just living on pain medicine right now until I can get back to the shots.
I didn’t really want to sue like I said all I wanted was my hospitalization paid and everything and they wouldn’t even budge on nothing so I didn’t have no choice but to hire an attorney.
